Applications are invited for appointments as Lecturer in the Journalism and Media Studies Centre (JMSC) (Ref.: 526692), to commence on August 1, 2024 or as soon as possible thereafter, on a three-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance and funding availability.

Applicants should possess a Master’s degree or equivalent in Journalism, Digital Media or related fields, with substantial years of proven professional and practical experience in the journalism and media industries. Proficient knowledge of generative AI, new media and digital tools is required. Priority will be given to those with experience in teaching professional courses at the tertiary level.

The appointees will be responsible for teaching courses in one or more of the following areas: (1) Generative AI in Media Application; (2) Multimedia Production; and (3) Capstone project advising at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. They will also contribute to curriculum and course development, as well as admission and outreach effort in undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. At current rates, salaries tax does not exceed 15% of gross income. The appointment will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 15% of basic salary.
