Manager/Assistant Manager (at the rank of Administrative Assistant II/Executive Officer) in the Knowledge Exchange Office (Ref.: 526674) (to commence as soon as possible, on a two-year fixed-term basis with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 10% of basic salary, with the possibility of renewal).

Knowledge Exchange (KE), together with Teaching and Research, form the three pillars that underpin all the activities of HKU.  The Knowledge Exchange Office (KEO) supports the development of a long-term strategy for KE at the institutional level.  In promoting KE, KEO liaises with Faculties, other academic units and administrative offices, as well as the Government and community stakeholders from different sectors.

KEO is poised to embark on new developments that will bring HKU’s KE to the next level.   We are seeking a candidate to strengthen our KE efforts by driving new initiatives.

Applicants should have a good Bachelor’s degree, with at least 3 years’ administrative experience at a supervisory level, preferably in a university or public/quasi-public organisations.  They should have an excellent command of spoken and written English and Chinese; strong organizational, comprehension and analytical skills; a high standard of accuracy in all forms of written work; and the ability to multitask under minimal supervision.  They should also embrace teamwork; be self-motivated with a strong sense of responsibility and attentive to details; and be a fast learner, competent communicator and capable leader as they are expected to work closely with researchers and external parties in a professional manner.  Sound judgment, maturity and sophistication in dealing with complex situations is highly desirable. Those with less experience may be considered for appointment as Executive Officer.

The appointee will (i) establish and strengthen liaison with external stakeholders, including funding bodies and research collaborators; (ii) prepare and compile university-level reports and statistics; (iii) administer consultancy agreements, service agreements, grant applications and funding schemes; (iv) design and implement KE-related/publicity events and activities to promote research impact, including social media strategies and multimedia productions; and (v) perform other duties as assigned.  Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend a written test and an interview.

A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits.

The University only accepts online application for the above post. Applicants should apply online and upload an up-to-date C.V.   Review of applications will start on May 24, 2024 and continue until June 9, 2024, or until the post is filled, whichever is earlier.
